Some of Putrajaya’s radio-controlled model helicopter enthusiasts seem to have found themselves a good spot for practicing their hobby.
Tucked away in a quiet corner of Taman Wetlands, Padang Semarak is a wide open space which rarely gets busy and is a safe distance from the pylons in the distance.
As with many of these big-boys-toys, the hobbyists seem to spend more of their time tinkering and fine tuning with screwdrivers than actually flying their models.
In most countries, a large flat grassy area like this would be full of kids playing football, cricket or badminton but here it is usually deserted. Too hot perhaps!
The king-size wooden platforms under the gazebos would make an ideal spot for a family picnic. Shame these facilities are not used a bit more. Perhaps the helicopter hobbyists would prefer that it remain their secret hideaway.
